Posted By: Ivor Heyman
Date: Tuesday, 9 July 2002, at 7:42 a.m.

Title: Resolving Conflict in Nonprofit Organizations: Tools and Techniques for Nonprofit Leaders

Date: July 19, 2002

Time: 8:45 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Location: John Hopkins University Washington Center
1625 Massachusetts Ave. NW
Washington, DC 20036

Who Should Attend: board members, executive directors, managers, supervisors and team leaders

Why Should You Attend:
Conflict manifests itself in many ways in an organization. Sometimes, it rises to the surface in the form of disagreements, defensiveness, or uncooperative behavior. However, most of the time, it remains below the surface, and is evident from symptoms such as:

– Resentments

– Low morale

– High turnover

– Lack of enthusiasm

– Mistakes

– People talking behind each other’s backs.

This workshop will teach nonprofit leaders how to identify the signs of conflict within their organizations before it becomes destructive, and intervene appropriately to help disputing parties find creative solutions to their differences.

Investment: $250 (includes workshop materials and meals). A limited number of partial scholarships are also available. For more information or to register online, visit www.mediate-facilitate.com or call Heyman, Mediation and Facilitation at (202) 483-0636.
