The Manhattan Psychological Association, which was begun in 1992 is a Manhattan-based professional organization for psychologists, a regional affiliate of the New York State Psychological Association, whose goal is to serve the best interests of its members and the psychological community. Purposes include the following:



  • To further the development of psychology as a science, profession and as a means of promoting human welfare;


  • To safeguard the interests of the public and the profession, and the freedom of scientific inquiry. Teaching and professional practice.


  • To promote the interests of psychologists through education, professional programs, training, support for psychology’s social and legal/legislative agenda, community service, opportunities for networking and professional growth.
