Drinking legal age in the U.S.

I would like to know the percentage of the teenagers who had drank alcohol in the U.S. Does this percentage correlates with the legal age? In the U.K. (legal age 18) almost 9o% of 16-year olds have drank alcohol, even though it is illegal. In Malta, south of Sicily, the percentage is also 90% and the legal drinking age is 16.
