hi, i have frotal lobe epilepsy and also for several years experienced an allergic reaction to dietary amines (substances such as tyramine, octamine etc)contained in wine, cheese, nuts. after ingestion, experienced altered perception, hallucinations, paranoia and ultimately seizures; the effect appeared to be cumulative (ie, the more amines ingested, the more severe the effects) . there are other members of the extended family who have similar allergies, so there appears to be a genetic component.
