try looking for a book called "The Biology of Alcoholism" Vol 2:Physiology and Behavior, Edited by Benjamin Kissen and Henri Begleiter. Chapter 10 in this is called The effects of Alcohol on the central nervous system in humans.
Or you could try a book called "Actions of Alcohol" Vol 1 by Henrik Wallgren and Herbert Barry. Chapter 5 called Cellular basis of ethanol action on the nervous system, and Chapter 6 called Integrative functions of the CNS, may be of some help.
