Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program
The In the fall of 1998, the New York Psychoanalytic Institute inaugurated an innovative psychodynamic psychotherapy program: a two-year intensive training experience offering to mental health professionals the opportunity to enhance their theoretical knowledge and clinical skills in psychotherapy. Through course work, case conferences, and clinical supervision of patients, the curriculum emphasizes the valuable contributions that psychoanalytic perspectives have to offer to the practice of psychotherapy. Qualified mental health professionals who are currently engaged in the practice of psychotherapy and who have graduate degrees from accredited programs in the fields of clinical social work, clinical psychology, and psychiatry are eligible to apply to the program. The Faculty is drawn from the membership of the New York Psychoanalytic Society. As in the training programs in psychoanalysis, Faculty members donate their time on a voluntary basis.
