Psychology Externship Program
One of the few educational opportunities of its kind, the Psychology Externship Program offers psychoanalytic training to psychology graduate students. It offers excellent clinical training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy to advanced psychology students, through closely supervised clinical work, didactic seminars and diagnostic testing experience. The program has been in operation for the past four years and has attracted increasing numbers of applicants, growing from six externs in the first class to the current class of almost thirty.

The Foundation's Goals:

  • To fund the development of a more advanced internship program for advanced doctoral students in psychology and social work. This educational opportunity fills a vacuum that has been created by the dramatic decline in analytically oriented mental health facilities available to provide clinical experience to psychologists in graduate school.
  • To hire research psychologists with diverse expertise, including in neuropsychological testing, to widen the breadth of the training.
